Abstract

Since last half-century in emerging economies, beyond elementary or basic education, professional and skill-oriented education has become popular as they offer students to aspire for various specialized professions and career-related opportunities.  They have gained exponential relevance and in a way, have become imperative. Master of Business Administration or MBA is one the most sought after degrees by students who aspire to become not only management professionals (to be employed under big corporate houses) but also become successful entrepreneurs themselves. This study covers a gender-wise comparative investigation and explores the desired career-related aspirations of the male and female MBA students in Aizawl. It tries to find out the reason why they chose to study MBA, their specific career objectives and also their expectations regarding future employment.
