As India is topped up with diverse culture and cuisines, among them the Northeast India exhibits flamboyant attractions. So studies have spotlighted one of the less specified destinations of Assam, i.e. Majuli. Majuli can be a perfect holiday destination if it will be channelized properly, as the destination is full of natural and cultural resources which have a potential to attract thousands of tourists. The island is virtually cut off from the mainland and tourists can reach there via ferry from Nimati Ghat. The island is full of attractions like pottery items, mask-making centers, boat making, and especially, the communities’ huts for tourist accommodation show the participation of local community. Local residents’ participation can help in developing the destination and promote community-based tourism.
