Abstract

A woman or a group of women who starts a business, collects all necessary resources, faces different types of challenges, takes risks, provides employment to others and manages the business by her own is known as women entrepreneur. It is estimated that approximately 1/3 of the entrepreneurs in the world are women entrepreneurs. However, this definition gave birth to several criticisms about the theory. In recent times, the role of women has gradually been changed because of awareness, education, urbanization, need, and economic support to the family. But the path of women entrepreneurs is not easy. They face a lot of difficulties like rigid socio-culture norms, male dominant society, family responsibilities and old traditions.
