Abstract

Facebook is the largest Social Networking Site, whoever claims the age of 13 years, can create an
account. All users can create groups, share and receive photos, personal information, opinions, as
desired by the users without any restrictions on the shared contents. Facebook also allows anyone
can advertise, sell and buy any product. As of today across the globe Facebook has become the
biggest tool for social empowerment for all age groups. But on the other hand Facebook also facing
plenty of controversies like user privacy issues, fake accounts, platform for communal riots, hate
speech, fake news, psychological addiction, copyright violation, plotted clandestine conspiracy and
low self-esteem. This research study critically examines on each aspect of Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities and Threats by Facebook users. This study finally comes out with valid suggestions to
improve the required government interventions as desired by the respondents to groom good civil
societies.
