Abstract

Any nation's economic development will have reached a major new level if its citizens have adopted digital financial services on a mass scale. Particularly in light of the publication of the covid-19 data, the new diversified banking structure that has been established in India with the intention of using technology to improve financial services for underserved groups, such as small businesses and individuals with low incomes, has been established. The primary objective of this strategy is to provide access to financial services for all individuals, with a particular emphasis on eliminating the obstacles that women face. In this study, we investigate some of the specific challenges that women face while using internet banking and other types of digital financial services. This transition has not been without its challenges, especially for women, in the areas of socioeconomics, globalisation, mobile phone use, and financial literacy. The banking sector is one of numerous that is becoming increasingly digitalized as a consequence of covid-19. These are only some of the many reasons why women are often prevented from making use of financial services that are offered electronically. For the purpose of compiling this background material, secondary sources such as publications issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other financial and non-financial organisations have been used. In addition to this, articles from a wide range of academic websites and magazines have been combed through. Digital financial services should be made available to as many people as possible and should not be difficult to obtain in order to advance gender equality and economic progress. However, if women had access to digital financial services, many of these barriers would no longer exist (considering the specific design qualities of technology and the sensitivity of bankers).
