Abstract

This study looks at the impact of post-merger digital integration on operational efficiency and cost synergies, with special reference to Canara Bank, the main purpose of the study is to understand how digital integration has helped improve banking operations and reduce operating costs after the merger, the study is based on secondary data collected from Canara Bank Annual Reports, RBI publications, research journals, and other published sources for the period from 2020-21 to 2024-25, important digital factors such as mobile banking users, internet banking users, UPI transactions, and the percentage of digital transactions were studied along with operational efficiency and cost-related performance indicators, descriptive statistics and regression analysis were used to examine the relationship between digital integration and the bank's performance, the findings show that the use of digital banking services has increased steadily, which indicates that more customers are accepting and using digital banking, the results also show improvements in staff productivity, service quality, operational efficiency, and cost management after the merger, overall, the study concludes that post-merger digital integration has made a positive contribution to improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting the bank through better technology and infrastructure for long-term growth and better performance.
