Emerging challenges of startups (A study with reference to the state of Andhra Pradesh)

Abstract

‘Start-ups’ are entrepreneurial ventures that have been launched recently and the founders attempt to find solutions to the problems in the form of an innovative and technology-driven products or services with a scalable business model. These ventures are expected to boost the economic growth of a nation to a great extent, by transforming viable business ideas into start-up ventures and thereby generating jobs, increasing consumption, improving Gross Domestic Product, finding optimal solutions to social problems and making lives of the people simple, efficient and easy In the present study the researcher tries to examine the various challenges associated with start-ups and evaluate the effectiveness of government policy measures in creating a conducive ecosystem for startups. The study also encompasses the role of incubation centres, educational institutions and investors in supporting start-up ventures. The study examines the perception of start-up founders about their emerging challenges and various institutional supports available to them. Hence, it would provide a better understanding of government bodies and other ecosystem enablers to improve the start-up ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh.
