Abstract

In recent years, personal finance management has gained significant importance due to the increasing complexity of managing day-to-day finances, saving for future goals, and investing. This paper presents a comprehensive study of the development of a Personal Finance Management System (PFMS), a digital solution designed to assist individuals in effectively managing their financial activities. The proposed system integrates budgeting, expense tracking, investment planning, and financial goal setting into a single platform, offering users real-time insights and personalized recommendations to improve financial decision-making. The system leverages data-driven algorithms to categorize expenses, set monthly budgets, and alert users to spending patterns that deviate from their financial goals. Moreover, it provides tools for monitoring investment portfolios, retirement plans, and long-term savings. The platform also incorporates financial literacy modules to educate users about important concepts such as debt management, asset allocation, and credit scoring.  This research focuses on the development process, system architecture, user interface design, and functionality of the PFMS. Additionally, it evaluates the effectiveness of the system in helping users enhance their financial awareness and improve financial behaviours through case studies and surveys. Ultimately, the paper explores how integrating technology with personal finance can foster better financial outcomes for individuals and contribute to overall financial wellness.  Key findings highlight the positive impact of real-time tracking and personalized financial insights on individuals' financial management habits. The paper concludes with recommendations for future improvements and the potential for broader implementation of PFMS across diverse user demographics
