Tourism and Investment: Glimpse from the Literature

Abstract

Tourism has been considered as a vehicle for promoting better understanding and peace among the nations, and investments from the public and private sectors are vital for the general economic growth as well as the sectoral growth such as tourism sector. Therefore, this study presents a review of existing literature and discussion on public and private investments and tourism growth. A keen review of existing literature in stated field revealed that this area has received inadequate attention by the research community, and negligible research has been found on the effect of public and private investments on tourism growth. Therefore, this study recommends examining the effect of investment, both public and private, on tourism growth.
