Abstract

This study examines the influence of emotional intelligence (EI) on leadership efficacy and team administration. This study seeks to address gaps in the literature by analyzing how leaders with high emotional intelligence cultivate team cohesion, improve communication, and promote overall organizational performance. A mixed-method approach will be employed, integrating quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to deliver a thorough understanding of emotional intelligence's influence on leadership and team dynamics. The findings are expected to demonstrate a positive correlation between high EI in leaders and superior team performance, highlighting specific EI competencies crucial for leadership success. Additionally, the study will offer practical recommendations for leadership development programs, aiming to enhance leadership practices and improve team outcomes through the cultivation of emotional intelligence. The main aim of this study is to investigate the role of emotional intelligence (EI) in determining leaders' ability to achieve organizational goals by reviewing and synthesizing relevant literature. As the business environment becomes increasingly competitive and complex, and the workforce becomes more educated and empowered, leaders need to understand both their own emotions and those of their followers. This paper reviews existing literature on leadership, EI, the potential mediating role of gender on the influence of EI on leadership, and the overall impact of EI on leader effectiveness. The research findings indicate that EI significantly determines the effectiveness of leadership, and that gender does not mediate the relationship between EI and effective leadership. Consequently, the study recommends the sensitization and training of leaders to acquire and enhance emotional intelligence skills to improve their leadership effectiveness and organizational performance.
