AI-Powered Strategic HRM: Preparing Students and Organizations for the Talent Demands of 2026–2027 Smart Enterprises

Abstract

The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping Human Resource Management (HRM) and redefining workforce expectations in the emerging era of smart enterprises. This study examines the integration of cognitive, generative, and sentient AI into strategic HRM to prepare students and organizations for the talent demands of 2026–2027. It proposes a novel theoretical framework that aligns AI-powered HR practices with student learning, university curricula, and industry skill requirements, addressing the growing gap between academic outcomes and labor market needs. The framework emphasizes predictive talent analytics, personalized learning pathways, AI-assisted leadership development, and adaptive workforce planning. By leveraging AI, HRM can anticipate future skill demands, enhance talent intelligence, and support organizational agility, while simultaneously equipping students with the competencies required for career readiness and lifelong learning. This study contributes both theoretically and practically by offering a forward-looking model for AI-driven strategic HRM, providing actionable insights for HR professionals, educators, and policymakers to foster innovation, employability, and leadership in the digital economy. Ultimately, this research envisions a future where AI-enabled HRM becomes the central mechanism for aligning education, industry, and talent development in smart enterprises.
