Adapting to Consumer Trends in E-Commerce: A Case Study of the Amazon Shopping App
Abstract
The purchasing and selling of goods and services through internet services is referred to as e-commerce, or electronic commerce. E-commerce helps consumers to exchange value online and make available the facilities at their desk. E-commerce is gaining importance throughout the globe. The development of e-commerce has helped get massive marketplaces to small, single-product shops to large businesses. This increase in e-commerce has also led to the significant shift in consumer behavior. This changing behaviour of the consumers has made businesses adapt and evolve with the new trends. This study is conducted to get the insight of how there is changing preferences of shopping of the consumers. This study probes to understand the behavioral shift of consumers that has driven growth of e-commerce. It also helps to get the insight of the demanding growth for seamless mobile shopping perception of personalized recommendations, and fast delivery services amongst the consumers. The study also attempts to understand the consumer expectations form the Amazon online shopping app and how Amazon is adapting and responding with the introduction of strategic innovations in its app interface. The case study throws light on how Amazon thrives in ae e-commerce market by aligning its strategies with consumer-driven trends.
