Abstract

This research paper examines the significance of working capital management (WCM) and its impact on firm performance. The efficient management of working capital is crucial for the success and sustainability of businesses, as it directly affects liquidity, profitability, and operational efficiency. The objective of this study is to explore various strategies and techniques employed by firms to effectively manage their working capital and assess their implications on financial performance. The research employs a comprehensive literature review, incorporating both theoretical frameworks and empirical studies on working capital management. Key components of working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management, are analyzed in the context of their impact on liquidity, cash flow, and profitability. The study investigates the relationship between WCM and financial ratios such as current ratio, cash conversion cycle, and return on assets. Furthermore, the research examines the influence of industry characteristics, firm size, and financial health on working capital management practices. It explores the extent to which firms' financial policies, such as aggressive or conservative working capital strategies, affect their risk exposure and overall financial performance. The paper also investigates the role of technological advancements and digitalization in shaping contemporary working capital management practices. The findings of this research provide valuable insights for managers, financial practitioners, and policymakers, highlighting the importance of adopting efficient working capital management strategies. Overall, the research serves as a valuable resource for academics and practitioners seeking to gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies of working capital management and its implications for business success.
