Abstract

This study examines inventory management practices at Surya Min Chem Pvt. Ltd., a private limited company operating in the chemical and mineral manufacturing sector in Delhi. The research aims to evaluate existing inventory control systems, assess their effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement within a chemical manufacturing environment where safety, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity are critical. A descriptive and exploratory research design was adopted. Primary data were collected from 30 employees through structured questionnaires, interviews, and observation during the internship period from June to August 2024, while secondary data were gathered from company records and relevant literature. The findings reveal that the company follows structured inventory procedures; however, certain gaps exist, particularly in communication effectiveness and technological integration. While strong product quality, teamwork, and employee tenure contribute positively to operational stability, reliance on manual processes and limited digital systems affect efficiency and real-time accuracy. The study highlights the importance of accurate documentation, safety compliance, interdepartmental coordination, and adoption of modern tools such as ERP systems, demand forecasting, and automated tracking to enhance performance. Overall, effective inventory management significantly influences cost control, waste reduction, and production continuity in chemical manufacturing. The study concludes that modernization and improved communication practices can further strengthen operational efficiency and long-term competitiveness.
