The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduces a broad framework of educational reforms designed to modernize India's education system and equip it to address the evolving needs and challenges of the 21st century.. This study examines the role of technology in driving these reforms and enhancing the quality, accessibility, and inclusiveness of education. NEP 2020 introduces a new 5+3+3+4 curricular structure that aligns learning with the cognitive development stages of children, while emphasizing foundational literacy and numeracy. The policy emphasizes experiential, interdisciplinary, and competency-oriented learning while encouraging the incorporation of vocational education at the foundational stages of schooling.. A key focus of the policy is the incorporation of digital technologies through initiatives such as online learning platforms and the National Educational Technology Framework, which aim to bridge educational gaps and expand learning opportunities. Furthermore, the policy advocates for multilingual education, holistic assessment systems, and continuous professional development of teachers. In higher education, flexibility in degree programs, promotion of research through the National Research Foundation, and the establishment of a unified regulatory framework are significant reforms. In addition, the policy places strong emphasis on ensuring equitable access to education by addressing the educational requirements of disadvantaged and marginalized communities.
