Abstract

Sustainable development is a fundamental break that is going to reshuffle the entire ecosystem. “India
is presenting a plan to coordinate the three dimensions of sustainable development: social,
environmental and economic, by 2030”. In pursuit of its commitment to global goals by shaping plans
related to development action with proper monitoring and evaluation and has started to promote one
word ‘LIFE’ which means lifestyle for environment encouraging proper utilization instead of
mindless consumption. The purpose of this case study is to highlight how the Indian Inc is responding
to the country’s commitment towards UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and meeting the
sustainability pillars: Economic viability, environmental protection, and social equity (EES). The case
study presents sustainability measures adopted at one of the FMCG leaders, Hindustan Unilever
Limited. The researchers have referred to secondary sources available in the public domain.
