Abstract

This paper emphasizes on recognizing the holistic nature of child development like nutrition, health and social, mental, physical, moral and emotional development. Health educators and researchers recommend that health education should be greater emphasis on teaching information about relative effectiveness of various health preventive procedures, so that students can make informed decisions about their health. It is still remains for researchers to determine whether such programs can affect broad pattern of attitude and habit and will have positive effect on health.

 

Mangalore has recently been the site of too many emerging types of infectious disease such as chikungunya, H1N1, Malaria, Dengue and recently Covid-19. The researcher wants to study about the perceptions of student teachers (B.Ed. students) in Mangalore Taluk about health education. As an outcome, the study will aid in the empowering of instructors in this area. Our teachers, who are the professionals of tomorrow's society, to understand and use health education material, as well as to teach it to the future generation. The results will aid teachers in developing the idea of health education through proper inputs. The study focuses on the scenario of the importance of health education knowledge to student teachers.
