Abstract

Each of us is endowed with a unique set of skills that we use in all aspects of oureveryday life. Non-cognitive skills are the skills which fall outside of the traditional definitions of intelligence and are not measured on standardized tests. They are not specifically analytical in nature, but they include range of personality and motivational habits and attitudes like growth mindset, self-motivation, optimism, resiliency, adaptability, conscientiousness, self-efficacy, hope, and others. It is indeed commendable to see growing importance of non-cognitive skills as they are crucial predictors of growth in numerous life domains. This paper tries to identify five non-cognitive skills from detailed literature review and understand those skills with reference to their importance as predictors of entrepreneurs. There are certain cases which have been taken into consideration to understand non-cognitive skill as predictors towards entrepreneurship.
