Abstract

Merger means an agreement that unites two existing companies into one new company. Mergers are done to expand a company’s reach, expand into new segments, or gain market share. Recently, Big Bank Merger was done on 30 August 2019 by our Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman. This paper consists of why it was done and what effect it will have on customers as well as banking sector.
