Abstract

A skill is a perfect balance between knowledge and behaviour that is to say what is to be done and
how it is to be done. It can also be the balance between practice and time. Soft skills are the non
technical skills and abilities that will help to carve out a successful career assisting in transforming
the managers to become completely professional. These soft skills not only help in shaping the career
of managers but will also be tremendously helpful in preparing them for the future challenges. A
manager plays many key roles in the development and success of an organisation. He has to tackle
various issues, interact with different people with different attitudes and perceptions, manage
business relations and resolve unexpected problems. Corporate world today demands the managers to
be resourceful and self directed with proper soft skills. A manager may be well qualified, highly
experienced and may have the courage to face challenges, but enhancement of professional and
