Abstract

Employee empowerment is not a new management concept. Because of its being a complex
management tool, when it is applied properly, it can improve organizational performance, individual
performance and individual productivity as well. The present study explores the concept of
empowerment of employees and proves that there is a significant role of employee empowerment on
organizational performance. To solve this purpose, selected studies have been reviewed and
evaluated further. The organizations which adopt employee empowerment strategies always succeed
in achieving their business goals and the impact of employee empowerment on organizational
performance differ from organisation to organization but some of the aspects are common to all the
organizations which adopt employee empowerment strategies like increased organizational
effectiveness, employee engagement, boost in employee motivation etc. Every organization can use
this leverage and grow business and market significantly.
